PROJECTS
Domincian Blue Carbon is an initiative that aims to research and develop projects that contribute to the conservation of the marine and coastal systems of the Dominican Republic. Under this premise of conservation and reforestation, the aim is to conserve and increase the carbon sinks of these ecosystems, which is known as "Blue Carbon".
The development of these projects under carbon standards can only be developed with the joint participation of the Government, NGOs and private entities, and where transparency and governance constitute its main foundations.
Just as important as the conservation of ecosystems are the pollutants to which they are subjected, such as plastics or other garbage of anthropogenic origin or sargassum of a natural nature, which is why they are also considered within the projects of this initiative.
At Dominican Blue Carbon we are open to joint participation with other public and/or private entities considering that the union will lead us to successful development of the projects.

MANGROVES
Mangroves are highly efficient carbon sinks, meaning they are capable of absorbing large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing it in the soil beneath their roots. However, these vital ecosystems are being threatened by deforestation, pollution, and climate change.
Blue carbon mangrove projects work to protect and restore these ecosystems, thereby preserving their carbon sequestration potential and providing numerous other benefits, such as coastal protection, habitat for wildlife, and livelihoods for local communities.
These projects often involve partnerships between Governments, non-governmental organizations, and local communities, and can include activities such as reforestation, sustainable fisheries management, and community development programs.
